There are three types of space tourism companies now vying to open up this experience to the wealthy, the superwealthy and the out-of-this-world wealthy. HALO SpaceLast week in London, HALO Space CEO Carlos Mira unveiled the interior design for its Aurora space capsule, which his team hopes will transport 10,000 passengers to near-space by 2030. HALO Space declared at the presentation that it’s offering “new, safe and zero-emissions alternatives to space flights,” and having already completed five successful test flights, that it’s the most advanced company in its sector. Within a very limited space, comfortable seating, generous viewing windows, storage areas and, most importantly, a toilet cubicle all had to be integrated. Flights will launch pre-dawn, so that guests can experience a “white” sunrise at the edge of the stratosphere with the deep black of space beyond.

Investors who are concerned they're overexposed to Nvidia could replace the name with these steady growth stocks instead, according to Trivariate Research's Adam Parker. CNN —“Monkey Man,” Dev Patel’s directorial debut action thriller that he also stars in, wrote and produced, opens with a tale familiar to Hindus around the world. Larry Swedroe, who is considered one of the market's most esteemed researchers, thinks Warren Buffett's investment style doesn't work well anymore. "Warren Buffett was generally considered the greatest stock picker of all time. And, what we have learned in the academic research is Warren Buffett really was not a great stock picker at all," Swedroe told CNBC's "ETF Edge" this week. "What Warren Buffett's 'secret sauce' was, he figured out 50, 60 years before all the academics what these factors were that allowed you to earn excess returns." US stocks could be stuck in quicksand for the rest of 2024 despite robust earnings growth, but investors shouldn't panic. Wall Street expects double-digit earnings growth in 2024. The consensus estimate for S&P 500 profits is about $244, which would be up from $220 in 2023. The so-called SMID-cap cohort lagged its larger peers again in the first quarter, posting a solid 7.6% total return, while the S&P 500 surged 10.6%, including dividends. Six sell-side research analysts cover the typical stock in the SMID-cap S&P 1000 index compared to 17 analysts for the average S&P 500 member, Belski wrote.

Advancements in AI tech have given birth to an industry of AI influencers, and major companies are beginning to show interest in their far more cost-effective approach to marketing. AdvertisementMiquela's success didn't spark a virtual-influencer revolution, but that was largely because of cost — human influencers were still cheaper. She sees AI influencers being used to provide a deep level of information, support, and guidance on brands and products. Do AI influencers really stand a chance at building trust with an audience? A study in the European Journal of Marketing found that consumers were just as likely to follow an AI influencer as a human influencer but that they didn't trust the AI influencer as much.

To Danny Yong, the Middle East is still Asia. In particular, multi-strategy hedge funds, the industry subset that large allocators are desperate for thanks to their uncorrelated and consistent returns, are growing in markets like Hong Kong and Singapore. Houston-based Pan Capital is planning to hire macro PMs in Hong Kong this year. These people-heavy firms need plenty of talent to make it all work, and the relatively small size of the Singapore market, coupled with political uncertainty in Hong Kong, puts a strain on the entire system. "Managers follow allocator trends, and the Middle East has been actively allocating while other regions have slowed their deployment.

"If you look at AI stocks or Nvidia in particular … Nvidia's a phenomenal company, massive revenue growth, massive earnings growth, but there's a question — how wonderful are they? Miller said Nvidia is inherently different from companies such as Microsoft and Apple, which he thinks are worth their $2 billion valuations. It looks like Tesla is about to regain its title as the world's top electric car maker. China's BYD reported on Monday that sales plummeted more than 40% for the first three months of 2024. Elon Musk's company is set to reveal its own quarterly delivery numbers on Wednesday. The slide has caused some to question whether Musk's company deserves its spot in the "Magnificent Seven" group of mega-cap tech stocks. A drop in deliveries would cap a "nightmare quarter for Tesla," said Wedbush analysts in a research note last week.

A majority of respondents — 61% — in the latest CNBC Delivering Alpha Stock Survey believe the broader market has run too far, too fast heading into the second quarter and a pullback is near. The S & P 500 is up more than 9% in the first quarter, which would be its best start to a year since 2019. When it comes to investing domestically 26% said the Nasdaq 100 was the best place to be compared to 13% from the S & P 500. That stock is up 245% in a year and 120% in six months far outpacing every other stock in the S & P 500 except for Super Micro Computer . CNBC's Jim Cramer on Wednesday celebrated results from CNBC's most recent Delivering Alpha Stock Survey, in which a majority of investors predicted the market had run too high and that a pullback is on the horizon. He told investors to welcome a decline and to raise some cash to buy quality stocks at lower prices. "I think people are right to expect a pullback here," Cramer said. While it's wise to raise some cash to prepare for a pullback, Cramer also suggested riding out some of the turbulence. When investors are always trying to avoid the next pullback, they may end up missing the next rally, he said.

CNN —A glowing worm moon will light up the sky on Monday with a celestial performance in store for people venturing out in the early morning hours — a penumbral lunar eclipse. The moon looks slightly darker during a 2023 penumbral lunar eclipse in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. It’s not going to be a super dramatic change in what we see in the moon,” Schmoll said. The penumbral eclipse comes about two weeks before a total solar eclipse that will cross Mexico, the United States and Canada on April 8. While a penumbral eclipse is not as dramatic as a total lunar eclipse with the moon appearing an eerie red, there is no special equipment required to view a lunar eclipse such as the viewing glasses needed for a solar eclipse, Schmoll said, allowing for lunar eclipses to be viewed with the naked eye.
